Matics original ceramic art and oil paintings as featured on this site are available for sale.

In addition limited giclee prints, various curated products and gifts featuring Matics artworks will be available for sale soon.

a beautiful photographic coffee table book "Matics - an Artist's Life"

(featuring aspects depicted in the photobook)

luxurious silk scarves and sarongs

as well as cards, textiles

(from large scale, oversized scale wall hangings to cushion covers)

and bespoke decorative jewellery

with gorgeous details and patterns

from various Matics art pieces eg:

The majority of Matics art was sold during her lifetime and is held in private collections.

A retrospective exhibition of selected Matics Art is being planned in Cape Town, South Africa. It will also feature aspects of Marietta's life and the intention will be to establish a permanent installation available for viewing by appointment.

Ceramic Sculptures

Marietta Matics created a wide range of hand-built, unique and beautiful ceramic busts and sculptures.

They include Eve, Queen Sheba, African Princess, a Pandora's Box, King & Queen, Leopard on a Branch, Monkey Family, Hungarian Girl, Polar Bears, Oceanic Face, Totem Pot, a whole flock of birds and other diverse subjects.

Matics Paintings

Marietta Matics began painting in oils in the 1950's when she lived in the Hungary and Britain. Her large-scale naive style portrait of Artist's Daughter was exhibited at the Pretoria Art Museum in 1983. Marietta continued painting up until her death, finishing her final painting of Kingfisher in Cape Town as a gift to her grandchildren in 2007.

Her paintings include Hydrangeas in jewel colours, Lilies, Portraits and still life's in Oils.
